Try 'Dancing Fool' - Frank Zappa, was my daughters favourite around that age and she still remembers making me play it over and over, with a little Valley Girl thrown in.

Lucky you !!

Cheers,
Ian

I have now tried the GF PC on my OPPO 983H and my Playstation 3 and I haven't noticed any big change in the video performance. I haven't been able to really listen to hear any changes in the audio side of each player. There is a chance I am hearing an improvement in the sound from the playstation as we have watched a bunch of bluray movies with the cold weather and they have sounded really good. But is it due to the cord? I don't know.
On the 2 channel side I have been using the GF balanced interconnect cable on my Supernova CD player for 2 weeks now. I am able to hear clearly into the soundstage and all the instumental texture and nuance seems to be present. I will switch back to my anticable to compare at some point but I am not rushing to take it out yet.
I think that the Power conditioner is really doing its job and keeping the noise floor low and the soundstage size is back to where it used to be when I was using the Richard Gray. I haven't tried putting the Richard Gray back in to the system but I will at some point.
I also tried the new tubes on my phono preamp GF P307 but they did not sound as good as the stock tubes right out the box, so I went back to the stock tubes and I am happily spinning vinyl. I may give these new tubes one more shot when I have a day off. If they don't have a WOW sound they are going back.

Merry Christmas Very Happy

John

I had just about finished typing my review and I lost the whole thing. I hate computers when this happens. Mad
Quick points
GF cable: more inner detail but less live feeling
anticable: sounds like live music maybe midrange more prominent
equal in soundstage imaging
I will do more comparison with more holiday time.

I have put the Richard Gray in front of the RPC 120 and had no reduction in sonic goodness. The RG seems to enhance the 3D imaging and soundstage depth.
The MXLR-1 balanced cable has stayed on my Adcom player which I use for HDCD discs and the detail in the various recordings is more evident with the MXLR-1 than with the anti cable. I listened to Kind of Blue ,Miles Davis last night every nuance around the closely mic'ed horns is audible but the "music' is intact so you're not just hearing sounds. I was happy anyway!
I have just put a RPC 120 into my Plasma system to see if there is a reduction in visible noise from the TV (Pioneer 6010).
Cheers for now Cool

I added the RPC 120 after the APC ht15 to check if there is a visual noise reduction on my Pioneer 6010 Kuro. So far I have watched Bluray, DVD and TV and there is no reduction in image quality (good news) when using the RPC 120.
Is there an improvement, ie. less noise, better black level,..... Maybe! I usually have to remove a new component to really see or hear a subtle difference. So in a week I will take out the RPC and do a check.
Happy New Year

I have been playing with the GF Pc on my Anthem 5 channel amp and my Arcam AVR300. These are part of my basement home theater and both pieces are good midfi/hifi gear. I have been using them with stock cable since I bought them 5 years ago.
Since I didn't see a big difference on my Plasma (2 channel HT) I thought what about the "old" system with 5.1 channel surround and Pioneer rear projection TV. In order to change cable in the basement system I have to access through a crawl space to get to the Amp and power conditioning. A pain ItA. So the result..... of course it sounds better now with the GF cables; more alive, most importantly clearer center channel (speech) for listening at night so the kids don't wake up. So I really see a benefit when using the GF pc on amps and receivers and Cd players versus a stock cable.
My second observation is that you can find even more improvement with better cable but it costs at least 4 times more.

Cheers
John

I brought the cable over to Absolute Audio/Video and played around with the Cable comparing against their Nordst and honestly was tough to discern much of an audible difference.

Mind you, even as Ian had mentioned, the tests were peformed on a Bryston BCD-1 & an Intergrated ST amp... so their power supplies are so well built that its likely a power cord from a Iron would still sound good.

I've tried a VD Nite and Blacksands Violet cable on my Jolida JD100A, and went back to the GF PC 1.5 as I prefer the richness of the sound, especially in comparison to the VD.

I have tried many power cords from 3 of the Calgary audio boutiques as that is one piece of gear that you can take home and try.
My collection is:
3 Moray James on CD players and Amp,
3 Nickle Power: Preamp , phono, Richard gray,
4 GF; RPC 120 X2, Anthem MCA50, Arcam avr 300

These are the cables I own I have tried others and I kept these.
the 4 GF cost about what 1 of the others cost! I'm frugal and I wouldn't have bought them if they didn't do something right. Very Happy

Well met Ian & Rachel for the first time last weekend at the Montreal show and it was my pleasure also bought 2 power cords at a very decent price i believe in good cables BUT $ 500.00 or more is crazy these power cords do a fine job and at 40% of that's even better next show it will be a Rita-880 that is realy worth the wait in the meantime i am enjoying my units with the new power cords thanks Ian & Rachel
