Well that didn't happen as planned as we were working with Green Mountain Audio.
The good news is that I have nailed the sonic cues of GMA's speakers for crossover, time and phase alignment and with accurate and solid BASS !!!, something the 2 way GMA's were sadly missing.
The RBS-1's are beyond stunning and will be priced at $1999 with the MBS-1's coming in at $1449. Both will easily compare with anything at that price, the porotype RBS-1's were bought after one customer heard them for about 5 minutes. The prototype MBS-1's are already spoken for too.
Funny story, one of designers suggested I boost the top end of the RBS-1's for the RMAF show and promptly forgot that I had. Everyone seemed liked them at the show as well as back in the showroom. It wasn't until I did the xover on the MBS-1 (which are perfect) that we realized that the RBS-1 wasn't quite right. Nailed it last night and I am to say the least very pleased with the sound, running with either RITA or the A-534.
The MBS-1's with the A-34, A-348 or A-88 is an excellent match.
Now it is the factory's turn to build them and we will hear them at the end of the month in China, if all goes well then they will immediately go into production.
Cheers,

Well, lots new on the speaker front. Almost everything new will get launched at FSI2009. More below.
Updating the MBS-1 and RBS-1 speakers, the MBS-1 are ready to go, first shipment is due in about 2 weeks and they are amazing. We have managed to reprice them lower and they are all that I have been listening to since Dave managed to grab my RBS-1 finished prototype from Rachel, nuts ! The MBS-1 is the kind of speaker you can listen to all day with ease. It just does everything right, not as refined sounding as the RBS-1 or with the extra few hz on the bottom, but I really like them and you will too.
I have 2 sets of RBS-1's arriving that my counterpart at Jungson has tweaked again, one my design and one his design to match mine, he uses test gear, I use my ears, between us we make great speakers. The RBS-1 should be ready to go very soon. My design was met with lots of congrats at the Guangzou Show last Decemeber being run by the RITA-340.
So, on to whats new in the GF speaker line-up.
The Grant Fidelity H-1 and H-2 Wood Horn Tweeter speakers. These are truly awesome sounding, all the benefits of a horn, but tamed by the wood throat and matched with a really fast woofer. I've lusted after these for a couple of years now and they are ready to go.
Grant Fidelity LS3/5A. Yup we got our version, tailored for NA studio use and of course those that love the sound of the original Roger's are going to be impressed.
Compact M-8 Audiophile 5.1 Home Theatre Speaker System. One word stunning, from the guys that helped develope and built Pioneer's TAD Reference series.
Our ST-100 Supertweeters are being well received and are out for review now with Affordable Audio.
Info already on the main site or coming very soon.
Cheers,

Received the RBS-1's yesterday and after sounding brutal on first listen (typical of Morel's) they are coming together nicely with about 10 hours, driving it from the Sheng Ya A-206 SS amp too, which has about the same amount of time. The woofers need about 300 to 500 hours of thumping before they drop an octave, can't wait, but really happy with the x-over so far which needs 75 hours.
Looks like we have finally nailed it.
Cheers,

Sounding really good already, bass has already dropped and the crossover is dissaoearing. Nice to have a better counterpart that designs $50k speakers like this:
When we met last Decemeber I asked him, besides the above, what is his favourite speaker he has designed? He said the RBS-1's with my x-over. Polite, the Chinese are eh !
