True "Treasure" as a result of Shuguang's 50 years of expertise in vacuum tube design and production.
- High Polymer Compound Carbon (HPCC) coating is for the first time used on vacuum tube production. Compared to traditional carbon spray technology, HPCC coating will allow greater concentration of electrons, enhance and maintain stability of the electron flow, maximize "secondary electron emission surpression" from the glass enclosure, in turn reduce effects of electron swirl which generates internal noises from the vacuum tube itself.
- 'Super Alloy' technology is for the first time used in constructing vacuum tube. 'Super Alloy' technology was invented and first used in aviation, aerospace, military and other high-tech area. After 3 years of testing under extreme conditions, Shuguang has successfully adopt such technology in vacuum tube constructing to achieve directional solidification and single crystallization, greatly improving the ability of electron emission and electron current stability.
- Improved vacuuming technology during production process to clear signal background
- Gold coated pins to improve connection and longevity
- Enhanced plate coating to increase electron emission
- Key assembling process is manually completed by a small number of senior technicians with 30+ years of experience.
- 60 extra parts selection and matching processes are adopted to ensure premium quality tubes, compared to the Shuguang generic clear glass tubes.
- Premium matched right out of factory to serve outside of China market
- Interchangable with EL34 family of tubes
- Suggested burn-in time 300 hours
A bit about Shuguang: Shuguang is the oldest and largest tube manufacturer in China, established in 1958 by engineers educated and trained in the United States in the 30-40s. Shuguang's vacuum tube production accounts for the world's 40% total tube output nowadays, either under their own brand "Shuguang" or under OEM brands. Generic Shuguang tubes come in clear glass enclosure. The Treasure series are only released in Dec 2008 to celebrate Shuguang's 50th anniversary and technology advancement. Grant Fidelity is the very first international distributor of Shuguang Treasure series outside of China. All Shuguang tubes distributed by Grant Fidelity comes with standard 30 days warranty plus a 12-month optional extended warranty.

Enjoythemusic.com has just published its "World Premier" review on Shuguang Treasure series 6CA7-Z and KT-88Z.
Reviewer Nel Ferre says: "Beyond good... these are great!" "I found that I preferred the Treasure Series 6CA7 to the regular grade Shuguang KT-88 in my system for their extended highs and midrange beauty. I appreciated the Treasure Series' bass texture, but I found myself wishing for more authority. That is where the Treasure KT88's extra bass grunt came into play. I found these to be my favorite of the lot, by a big margin. I found them to be the most balanced of the tubes I have on hand top to bottom, with incredible detail. Dynamics, both micro and macro... check. The Treasure Series KT88 really has it all — just like a Black and Tan. Keep in mind, I am not slighting the Treasure Series 6CA7 — I still preferred them to my usual tubes. This is high praise".
"Shuguang's Treasure Series 6CA7-Z and KT-88Z tubes are both stellar performers. ....While the Treasure Series 6CA7 is the only EL34 type tube that I have ever heard that I could easily live with long term, their KT88s (to my ears and taste) are even better yet. Though I prefer the KT88s both models are very highly recommended".

Premium vs. Standard; Grade A vs. Grade B
All Treasure tubes from Grant Fidelity is of Premium Grade export quality from Shuguang and they are superior to those sold out of China or Hong Kong - which are intended for Chinese market and are commonly referred as Standard Grade. Standard Grade treasure tubes have much wider variance in specifications and could deviate from the tube's designed specs by up to 40%. If you are looking for first class quality tubes and want protect your investment, we strongly recommend you to buy 'Premium Grade' only.
The Treasure Premium Grade tubes imported by Grant Fidelity are further divided to Premium Grade A (perfect matching on every aspect and strong emission) and Premium Grade B (less than perfect matching in certain aspects such as plate current, transconductance or minor internal gas, slightly less emission. However we guarantee that none of these minor weakness will interfere with the tube's normal operation and pose no safety hazards to your amp.
Grade A tubes are sold with a price premium over that for Grade B.
Even if you purchase 'Premium Grade B' tubes from Grant Fidelity, you are getting better tubes than the Chinese 'Standard Grade' sold over eBay type of places. Buyer beware.
If you need to purchase optional 12-month extended warranty for Treasure tubes, please order it separately by clicking here.

"They sound better than the best Mullards I currently have"
- from customer Richard J.
"Dear Rachel, First I would like to say Thank You for sending the Shuguang Anniversary EL 34 Black bottle tubes. Amazingly they sounded better than the best Mullards I currently have on hand right out of the box. I have never had a tube sound so good with no break in time, and I have been using tubes since 1963. Thease are trurly an amazing accomplishment. "
"Bass is tight and tuneful, while going much deeper..."
from AudioCircle member - cryoparts:
Bass is tight and tuneful, while going much deeper.
Highs are much more extended and pure. Not splashy at all like they were with the SED's. Cymbals sound like cymbals, not like "escaping steam", which is a pet peeve of mine. Midrange is close in purity and smoothness to the SED's (which are VERY good in this area), but more transparent, which allows one to 'see' into the stage and sound scape more clearly and allows the illusion of space to really develop. In addition, spatial cues are easier to identity which allows firm placement of instruments and/or performers within the stage.
The last week, or so, I have been finding it harder to listen critically and find myself just drawn into the music as the emotion of the artist is really coming through. This doesn't happen to me a lot with budget gear, as I am pretty jaded, so consider it high praise, indeed."

"Not sure if I can get better tubes for what I spent on these"
Comments from Simon N. in Ontario:
I have a GrantFidelity A-534 with a set of Telsa EL34's NOS, they're good to me compared to the stock GF (Shuguang generic clear glass) tubes, and initial thought on the black bottles, they weren't as open and quite rough sounding compared to the Telsa's. Burned them in more hours but still not too impress, then I left the amp on over night for good couple of weeks to burn them in. Now they sing!!! Sounds very live with these new tubes and very smooth sounding.
They also look nicer than the Telsa with the black coating on the glass. I'm not sure if I can get better tubes for what I spent on these, but they worth every penny to me!
Simon
