During my work of promoting western speaker brands in Chinese market in the past years (which are still ongoing), I came across [Analog Sound™] by Line Magnetic in our co-exhibiting shows and events there. Not only myself, but also the highly experienced designer /audiophile / ex music producer of a prestige western speaker brand, are more than astonished for what a magical sound the [Analog Sound™] line of tube amplifier can re-produce!
I decide that they must be known to the western world – it’s too good a treasure to be hidden in the east, and buried among the ‘Chi-Fi’ crowd!
[Analog Sound™] IS NOT A ‘ME-TOO’ TUBE AUDIO. It is based on ‘Western Electric’ transformer and circuit technology with modern features – end result? It produces ‘Heavenly Tube Sound’.
About AS-128:
This pair of integrated monoblocks are SPECIAL! Each channel (mono integrated with its own pre-amp stage) uses a ‘King of ALL tubes’ – a massive, 12 1/2″ tall from pin up, 3 5/8″ wide in diameter, 212 model vacuum tube as output tube.
In today’s ultra high end audio world, there are probably total less than handful brands who commercially produce home audio tube amps with this massive 212 vacuum tube.
What’s special about 212 vacuum tube?
The Western Electric 212E was originally introduced in 1937, superseding previous WE 212D tube model, and was used in Western Electric transmitters and trans-oceanic “Long Lines” rigs. Just imagine: during WWII time, voices have been carried through trans-ocean radio rigs using this massive 212 tube, and some of those voices HAVE FOREVER SHAPED HOW OUR WORLD IS TODAY.
Owning a tube amp with 212 tube, is like owning a piece of the audio history.
Do not feel discouraged by the typical low output power rating of SET (single ended triode) tube amps. This AS-128 is NOT another ‘typical’ SET amp. Audiophiles are often told that SET amps are of lower power (2A3 with output of 3.5 watts, 300B with output of 8-9 watts, and 845 with output of 25 watts) and cannot drive those ‘hard to drive speakers’ with ease. However, When designed with the right transformers and circuity, a single ended 212 tube amp can give you heavenly sound that no other triode tubes match up and deliver.
They will re-shape your belief of what a well designed tube amplifier can really deliver in terms of REAL POWER. It will rock your musical world.
